How many companies are registered at your registered office address?

The number is public, it takes thirty seconds to look up, and banks, insurers, payment processors and procurement teams look it up. Below are the verified counts for the addresses most used by UK businesses, including the one this body uses.
Why the number matters
Registering a company at a virtual office or a formation agent’s address is lawful, ordinary and, for a business with no premises, entirely sensible. This page makes no suggestion otherwise, and most of the companies at the addresses below are perfectly ordinary businesses that took the cheapest option available.
What the number changes is what the address tells somebody who checks it. An address shared with 190,000 other companies carries no information about where a business is or whether it exists. An address shared with 89 does. Screening systems at banks, insurers, payment processors and procurement desks treat mass-registration addresses as a marker, and most businesses have no idea they are being marked down for it.

80a Ruskin Avenue is the clearest worked example on this page of why the count alone is not the test. At 375 it sits comfortably inside a passing band. But the register entries carry suite numbers — Suite 156, Suite 306, Suite 307 — against a residential street address in suburban Welling, which is the signature of a mail-forwarding product rather than premises. DTA Registry Ltd, the company that operates Digital Trust Audit, is registered at 20 Old Bailey, London EC4M 7AN, which holds 796 companies. That is inside the band where composition decides the reading rather than the count, and the composition is largely a law firm’s client registrations rather than a formation agent’s volume trade.
It is on the page for a reason. A register whose author is visibly inside it is considerably harder to attack than one that is silently clean, and a body that publishes a measure it exempts itself from has published nothing.
Two figures, not one
A building’s postcode total and the total against a specific floor or suite line are different numbers, sometimes by two orders of magnitude. The postcode figure is what a crude external check returns; the suite line is what appears on a company record and what a careful check compares. The counts above are postcode totals. This register takes no money from registered office providers, formation agents or any company named on it, in any form — no affiliate link, no sponsored listing, no recommended provider tier. Providers will offer.
The register’s entire value is that it has no commercial interest in the answer, and one affiliate link would destroy that permanently. It is stated here, and in the methodology, so that it is a published standard rather than a private policy.

All of it moves on the same day. A company that updates the register and leaves the old address on its website has converted a soft finding into a mismatch between register and site — which is a hard-floor failure on this body’s standard, and a worse position than the one it started in.
